How can you gain muscle?

i've always wondered how a person, mainly a girl can gain muscle. i see these people on tv and in magazines with great leg or arm muscle, how do they get that way ? (no i dont really wanna gain muscle) this question just interests me mind

You have to do pushups and lots of cardio-vascular excercises.
eat boiled chicken..
They lift weights and take steroids!
they work out and lift a lot of weights.

Lots of strength training, lifting weights, lunges, etc. Personal celebrity trainers don't hurt, either!
Weight lifting, I am serious. I was in weight lifting class in high school and I gained 13 lbs of lean muscle, in only about 3 months. Most of my muscle was gained in my lower body, because I don't want a manly body, or pectoral muscles. I just did back/front squats,dead lifts, also calf extension and a lot more. It's also important to get a lot of protein in your diet, protein helps you build muscle quicker. You also need carbohydrates.
Exercise! By exercising and working out, you tear the micro fibers in your muscle, which results in soar muscles. When the muscles repair themselves they build additional tissue with protein, which is why people at the gym try to have high-protein diets.

You mostly need to weight-lift to build muscle. Running builds your heart muscle but is mostly endurance training for your body (very good for you) but isn't going to hulk you up. Look at all the scrawny runners. They sure can run though.
apple, generally, by doing some heavy lifting with few reps (1-5)and if you just are interested to tone the muscles, then it would be lifting light with more reps (20-25)
To GAIN muscle you must lift heavy weights, almost to heavy to lift, but not heavy enought to be dangerous, and do little repetitions at a time (i.e. 5 repetitions). To FIRM muscles or maintain lean muscles, you must lift just enough weight for it to be hard and do as many repetitions as possible.
It takes a lot of self discipline. You need to watch what you eat and constantly work on improving each muscle you focus on, keeping up with a steady weekly workout will continue to burn the fat off and replace it with lean muscular tissue, and as a result all your hard work is shown from how much effort you put into it.

This is mainly for guys, but you can cut some things down like the amount of food you should consume.
drink protein milk before you work out...

well u have to do a lot of exercises, like push ups and stuff. also u hace to lift weights to gain muscle also. hope u will figure out how peopel gain muscle.
