How can I prevent myself from diabetes?

Diatebetes is in my family. My grandfater, aunty and my uncle have it. People say that there are chances that I can get it. Is it true? What precautions I should take to be safe from it?
Answer:
yes, iys true that there is a chance for you to develop it. its type 1 diabetes (insulin-dependent).. diabetes is generaly a genetic disease that one contacted if his/her family have it.go see a doctor if you already have it, if none, watch for the the DIET!. thats all there is to it. avoid excessive sweets. its not only the sweet thats gonna be the problem, but most all the food. the problem here is that one needs insulin to keep the glucose out of the circulation. everytime we eat (different food), food will be broken down into simple sugars to be absorbed. insulin's job is to monitor the glucose in our body and letting it go in the muscle. if no insulin, there will be high glucose.. this is primarily the pathology of diabetes..
STAY FIT, dont become fat or obese..
dont eat a lot of sugar and cafeine (sp?) Get checked by your doctor about once a year just to be sure i have to do the same bc it runs in my family..... i did research on it and it is resesive so you may or may not get it.... My mom is a scientist so thats how i know its resesive lol
Very true that a trend toward diabetes runs in families. Eat right, exercise, maintain a good weight.
My daughter, who is 11, has low blood sugar which means she is pre-disposed to diabetes 2. I had her tested at 2 years of age, when she would get uncontrollable when she was hungry. Her father and his family all have diabetes 2 as well as severe heart disease. I make her exercise every day, watch her carbs (carborhydrates turn to sugar once they are eaten) and limit her sugar intake. Low carb and high protein diet. Chocolate is only allowed maybe 1x a year in small dose. I was told that the faster and more sugar she ingests the sooner she will become insulin dependant. If you exercise and watch what you eat now, you can control your sugar levels.
Control your sugar and carbs intake using diet.
That's the best precautions out there and it's easy to say - hard to do

How to do the low calorie diets

This can be the best diets for diabetes patients, as described by dietician.
Provided that the diet restricts calorie intake and suggesting a high nutrition intake daily, lower levels of fasting insulin, fasting glucose, blood pressure and cholesterol can be attained.

Low calorie diets can also directly lower your excess fats and sugar. So this makes a good diet for diabetics that should manage their weight and also sugar level.
yes u can get it. keep your weight down and go to the doctors on a regular basic if your worry.
