How do I break a bad habbit ?

I have a habbit of chewing on my pen while I am working, all my pens are awful looking at work,
Answer:
It is looking like you are in very tensionos. be positive at work. chew some thing like c.gums, and other eatables. use metal pens it should work for u.
Buy a novelty toy to put on the end of the pen
replace it with a good habit. OR I had a friend that put a rubber band on her wrist and every time she did whatever she wanted to stop doing, she pulled it and let go. the sting on her wrist helped condition her.
control, control and control
you need to consciously aware of the withdrawal symptoms and live with it. Its now scientifically proven that if you can do (or not do) something for 21 days then it has formed the habit.
So all you have to do is control for 21 days and you have got yourself a new habit!
The best way to break any habit is to substitute a better one, but this is a toughie. I can't think of anything that wouldn't be equally annoying, like tapping your fingers, etc. You might try painting your pens with some Tobasco sauce or something irritating like that. Or you might try to figure out what it is that you are stressing over that makes you want to chew your pens and try to eliminate the stress, either by changing whatever it is that is stressing you or reducing your stress level by deep breathing, etc.
keep chewing gum in your mouth. Simple ! :)
